1. Regular maintenance makes all the difference
Dust your sofa weekly using a vacuum cleaner with a suitable attachment (soft brush or textile nozzle). Don't forget the areas between the cushions and the armrests.
Shake and flip the cushions if possible, to prevent uneven wear and maintain their original shape.
2. Cleaning according to flooring type
Fabric
In case of a stain, act quickly with a clean, slightly damp cloth and a little mild soap (e.g., Marseille soap).
Avoid harsh or alcohol-based products, which could damage the fibers.
For a deep clean, consider gentle steam cleaning or call a professional.
CORDUROY
Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment to gently vacuum between the cords of the velvet, at least once a week.
Brush in the direction of the fabric (with the cords) with a soft-bristled brush to realign the pile and restore its natural sheen.
To revive the appearance of corduroy, you can apply a light steam (from a distance) with a garment steamer, then brush gently.
Leather or imitation leather
Dust with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
Use a special leather cleaning milk every 2 to 3 months to nourish and protect the material.
Avoid direct heat sources (radiator, sun) that can dry out the leather.
3. Watch out for moisture and liquids
In case of spills, immediately blot with a dry cloth without rubbing.
Avoid overly wet cleaning, especially for non-removable sofa covers or wooden structures.
4. What to avoid
Do not place your sofa too close to a heat source or in direct sunlight: this could fade the colours or deform the materials.
Avoid always sitting in the same spot to distribute wear and tear.
Do not use standard household products (bleach, detergents, solvents) on the coating.
